Has anyone else seen those national health service adverts? They've been around for a while now, but i noticed one again the other day on the way into work. It has the nhs logo, and the one i saw had a close up of a slightly sinister looking lady smiling, who i presumed was a nurse or something. Then the slogan in big letters says "Where there's a will, there's a way". Its not until you read the smallprint that you would discover it's an ad for an nhs non-smoking service, rather than for a kindly lady who will ease granny's passing with a suffocating pillow hug. I told my wife about it, pondering whether or not they do focus groups for their adverts. I can't be the only one whose mind works that way, but she reckons not everyone has as sick an imagination as i do. I wonder what the biddies who get put into carehomes would think of it, especially the ones whose eyesight doesnt allow them to read that smallprint.
